Participation in the Gold Plus Rewards Program 

   

Eligibility: 

You must be a Hertz #1 Club or #1 Club Gold member to participate in the Gold Plus Rewards Program ("Program"). Persons who do not have a Hertz #1 Club number may be enrolled by going to hertz.com and clicking on “#1 Club.”  There is no fee for enrollment in Hertz #1 Club.

 

Only individuals with an address in the following countries may participate:

France, Germany, Italy, Spain, The United Kingdom

 

North America & U.S. Territories

United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas

How to Participate: 

Participants or their travel agent must mention the participant's Hertz #1 Club membership number and ask to receive Gold Plus Rewards Points (for Travel Agents the code “ZE1”) each time they make a reservation or at the time of rental in order for the member to earn Gold Plus Rewards Points for a particular rental. Gold Plus Rewards Points are used in place of any other frequency program number for a particular rental.  In order to receive Gold Plus Rewards Points on all your Hertz rentals, participants may log into their #1 Club account and update their “Membership Information" located in “My Profile” or call 1-800-654-3131 and request that Gold Plus Rewards be added to their #1 Club profile.

 

Communication Elections and Participation

If, in the ‘Membership Details’ section of your Hertz #1 Club or Hertz #1 Club Gold profile, you have directed Hertz not to communicate any marketing offers or materials to you, your participation in the Program will be limited to certain transactions you perform on hertz.com or over the phone with Hertz.  These transactions consist of obtaining your Points balance and Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates or buying Points. We will be unable to send you balance notifications or any other Program materials.  You will only receive those Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates you have requested on hertz.com or over the phone and non-marketing communications Hertz may send in connection with the Program.

Earning Gold Plus Rewards Points  

Participants will earn one point for every qualified U.S. dollar, or its equivalent in the currency tendered on each qualifying rental. Qualifying rentals include all car rentals, (excluding truck and van rentals), at participating locations in, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain.

 

Points earned on rentals in participating countries outside the United States will be converted from the currency of the participating country to U.S. dollars based on the rental check-in (return) date to determine point credits.  Points will round up to the next U.S. dollar when the rental transaction amount exceeds $00.50 (for example a qualifying rental transaction of $99.51 will earn 100 (one hundred) Gold Plus Rewards Points).

 

Corporations and other entities may not participate. Each individual must participate separately and may have only one account within the Program. Neither participation in the Program, nor Gold Plus Rewards Points are transferable. Participants may not combine, barter or otherwise transfer Points with or to other persons.

 

Earning Restrictions:

 

  • Points will not be rewarded on taxes, tax reimbursement, governmental surcharges, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option and refueling or other optional services.
  • Points will not be issued on the following type rentals: rentals on rate plans for accounts that do not allow employees to participate in reward programs; dealer replacement, body shop replacement or fleet replacement rentals; rentals by Hertz employees, Hertz licensees and licensee employees; and rentals using travel industry rates/discounts, tour and wholesale rentals, and convention rate rentals, or rentals made under an Applicant Program number, or when a member chooses to receive mileage/credits/points for a frequent traveler program (i.e., airline frequent flyer, hotel frequency program, etc.).
  • Free rental days or any other car rental reward provided under any Hertz program, including Gold Plus Rewards, do not qualify for Gold Plus Rewards Points.
  • Points earned are valid for two years from the end of the calendar year within which they were earned, provided the Program is still in existence.
     

 

Account Information

 

A participant’s Gold Plus Rewards account information such as current balance earned and redeemed Points can be accessed anytime by logging onto hertz.com.  Members will be allowed to purchase up to 10,000 additional Points per calendar year for 20 cents (US $) per Point by charging to a major credit card if they have a minimum balance of 500 Points.  Minimum purchase is 50 Points.

 

Redeeming Points for Free Rentals 

A member can redeem specified Points for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates or participating frequent traveler program miles/points or credits. Rewards will only be mailed to the Gold Plus Rewards Member at the address on file. To redeem miles/points/credits, refer to the directions provided in the “My Account” section of hertz.com.

 

Using Gold Plus rewards

 A Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Rental requires a reservation and the Hertz redemption reward desired must be selected at time of reservation.

 

To use a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for a rental in the U.S., Canada or participating U.S. Territories, Members must redeem Gold Plus Rewards Points in one transaction online when booking a rental.   To redeem Points and reserve a car online, log on to hertz.com, select “My Account,” “Gold Plus rewards,” “Redeem Points” and then “Redeem and Reserve Now.” Points will be automatically deducted from your account and you will be sent to the online reservation process to book your rental.  Once Points are redeemed and a rental reservation is made online, any changes, modifications or cancellations to the reward reservation may be made online or by calling 1-800-654-2210 in the U.S., and 1-800-263-0600 in Canada.

 

To use Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for a rental in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy or Spain, members must call Hertz at 1-800-654-3001 to redeem points and make the corresponding reservation.  Once Points are redeemed and a rental reservation is made by phone, any changes, modifications or cancellations to the reward reservation may only be made by calling at 1-800-654-3001

 

Redemption of Gold Plus Rewards Points for rentals in participating countries in Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Spain & the United Kingdom) will apply toward pre-paid rentals only for certain compact,  intermediate and seven seater car classes,  and any additional days beyond those for which points are redeemed, must be paid for in advance in accordance with the rules of the rental. Cars included within specific car classes will vary by country. Rewards are based on 1 free day, 1 free weekend (2 days), and one free week.   When redeeming for a two day weekend reward, it may only be redeemed against a weekend rate and the rental must kept over a Saturday night.  Rates used to calculate Reward redemptions may differ from on-line rates.     

 

 Rewards for rentals in the United States, Canada and participating U.S. Territories will apply toward non pre-paid rentals only and any additional days beyond those for which points are redeemed, must be paid in accordance with the rules of the rental.

 

When a member requests and then redeems a paper certificate, unless otherwise specified, Free Day Certificates and Upgrades are available for rentals within the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

 

Hertz reserves the right to limit the number of cars available for Gold Plus Rewards Rental usage. Gold Plus Rewards Rentals will be subject to vehicle availability at the time and place of rental.  Except for One-Way Rewards where offered, vehicle must be returned to original rental location.

 

Blackout dates may apply during AnyDay Reward periods. If the desired date for the commencement of an reward rental falls during a AnyDay Reward period, the whole rental is blacked out and does not qualify for the use of a Standard Reward. Rewards apply to contracted time and mileage only. Members are responsible for governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refueling, excess mileage charge, LDW, CDW, TP, and optional items.

 

Rewards are not combinable.  Only one Gold Plus Rewards Rental Reward can be used per rental transaction. So for example, if a member selects a one day, weekend or one week rental for an reward redemption, they may pay for additional days and extend the length of the rental, but they may not redeem for two or more rewards in the same rental reservation (so if they wanted to redeem for four days, they could not redeem four one-day rentals rewards in the same rental reservation).  In addition, Gold Plus Rewards Rental Rewards may not be combined with any other discount, promotion, coupon or frequent traveler reward program (i.e., airline frequent flyer, hotel frequency program, Haute Fidélité in France, etc.). All local rental and age requirements apply. Once issued, Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates are valid for one year from the date of issue.

Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates are not replaceable.  Gold Plus Rewards Rental Rewards and Certificates are only transferable to a member's spouse or domestic partner. Spouse or domestic partner should have his/her own #1 Club number to use the Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificate or Rental Reward. Altered or photocopied Gold Plus Rewards Rental Certificates will not be honored

 

Gold Plus Rewards offers are void where prohibited by law. Gold Plus Rewards Points will not be refunded in the event of no shows, early vehicle returns or reservation cancellation requests, unless the rental is cancelled with at least twenty-four hours prior notice to the rental pick up time shown on the reservation.  Gold Plus Rewards Points, frequent traveler miles/points or credits and Gold Plus Rewards Rentals are not exchangeable, refundable or redeemable for cash or credit under any circumstance. Tax liabilities arising from the Program are the sole responsibility of the member.



Frequent Traveler Programs

 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points may also be exchanged for frequent traveler miles or credits. A minimum balance of 600 Points will be required to exchange Gold Plus Rewards Points for miles/points or credits. All Point redemptions must be in increments of 600 Points. The exchange rate of Gold Plus Rewards Points to airline miles will be 600 Points: 500 airline miles; or 600 points for one credit or one point. Once Points are exchanged, all airline frequent traveler program rules, procedures and policies regarding mileage/credit validity, redemption and expiration will apply. The member is responsible for any applicable taxes on frequent traveler miles/points. Certain participating accounts may not be permitted to exchange Gold Plus Rewards Points for frequent traveler miles or credits.

 

The following frequent traveler programs are participating in this Program: Aeroplan (Air Canada), Alaska Airlines, American Airlines®, Amtrak®, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines®, Frontier AirlinesTM, Hawaiian Airlines®, Marriott Rewards®, Priority Club® Rewards,  Southwest Airlines®, United Airlines®, and US Airways®. Travel partner participation in this Program may change without notice.

 

General Program Terms

  1. Hertz has the right to change, limit or modify Program rules, Rewards, Reward
    structure and Gold Plus Rewards Point levels at any time with or without notice.
  2. The number of Gold Plus rewards Points required to redeem any Reward may be increased, and any Reward may be withdrawn and restrictions on any Reward or its redemption maybe imposed at any time.
  3. In accumulating Gold Plus Rewards Points, members should not rely upon the continuing availability of any Reward or Reward level, and members may not be able to obtain all offered Rewards in all circumstances.

Hertz has the right to terminate the Gold Plus Rewards Program at any time upon six months prior notice to members.  As of the termination date, members will no longer be able to earn Gold Plus Rewards Points or to redeem Gold Plus Rewards Points for Rewards.  Hertz may terminate the Program at any time in whole or in part without advance notice if required to do so by applicable law.  In addition, the Program may be suspended or terminated if events beyond Hertz’s reasonable control, such as computer or electronic transmission failure, materially affect Hertz’s ability to continue the Program.
