How does Hertz My Car work?

Hertz My Car is a monthly subscription service that provides you the benefits of owning or leasing a car without the hassle. You pay a one-time enrollment fee and a flat monthly rate based on the tier you select. Our two tiers provide you a wide vehicle selection and the ability to exchange vehicles up to twice per month. Additionally, you enjoy worry-free driving with coverage and maintenance included at no extra cost.

How do I join?

To subscribe to Hertz My Car, please click the Subscribe button at the top of the page. You'll be prompted to enter your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards number and answer a few questions. A Hertz My Car representative will then call you within 24 to 72 hours regarding the status of your subscription.

Will I earn Gold Plus Rewards points for my Hertz My Car subscription?

Yes, you will earn Gold Plus Rewards points just as you would from a standard Hertz rental. Tier 1 members will earn 999 points per month, and Tier 2 members will earn 1,399 points per month. Five Star and President's Circle members will earn 25% and 50% bonuses on top of their base points earned. For more information, click here.

Can I redeem Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points toward my Hertz My Car subscription?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points cannot be applied toward your Hertz My Car subscription.

How do I cancel my subscription to Hertz My Car?

You may cancel your subscription by calling our dedicated Customer Care line at 888-225-6610, and letting them know that you'd like to cancel. If cancelations are made within the first 2 months of service, you will be charged for the entirety of the 2 months. For additional details please refer to our terms & conditions..

Can I drive out of state and/or country?

While you are able to drive out of state with your vehicle, you are not able to leave the country with your vehicle as Hertz My Car is available only within the U.S.

Is there a monthly mileage limit?

There is a 2,000-mile monthly limit. Any additional miles beyond the monthly allotment will have a cost of $0.35.

What do I need when I pick up my vehicle?

Upon pick-up, you'll be asked to present a valid driver's license and the credit card that you used at the time of booking with the main driver's name printed on it.

Can anyone else drive the vehicle?

A free Additional Driver is included in the subscription. The Additional Driver will need to be present upon vehicle pick-up for information verification purposes. For additional details please refer to the terms & conditions.

What are the enrollment requirements?

Enrollment requirements include:

  • Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership with a valid credit card on file
  • Qualifying credit score
  • Must be 25 years of age
Is there a minimum contract period?

There is a two-month minimum contract period from the date of your first pick-up. Your subscription will automatically renew monthly until a cancelation is requested.

What is the minimum driver age requirement?

You must be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver's license to be eligible for Hertz My Car.

Fees and surcharges
How much does Hertz My Car cost?

There are two options:

Tier 1: $999/month, plus taxes
Includes a wide selection of small SUVs, small trucks and full-size sedans as well as coverage and maintenance.

Tier 2: $1,399/month, plus taxes
Includes a wide selection of regular SUVs, large trucks, luxury sedans and access to the entire Tier 1 fleet as well as coverage and maintenance.

Upon subscription approval, you'll be asked to pay a nonrefundable one-time enrollment fee of $250.

What happens if I receive a citation while driving my Hertz My Car vehicle?

Additional services
Does Hertz offer Pick Up Service?

Hertz My Car can pick you up and bring you to the location you selected. While making a reservation, inform the Hertz My Car representative that you will need to be picked up. Geographic restrictions may apply.

How do I add any extras to my booking (e.g. a child safety seat)?

Any additional services or products can be arranged for you at the service counter at the time of pick-up. Additional services and products are not included in your monthly subscription. You'll be billed for these separately at the time of vehicle drop-off.

How do I exchange a vehicle?

Vehicles can be exchanged by calling our dedicated Customer Care line at 888-225-6610, and letting us know the type of vehicle you’d like and your preferred pick-up date.

How many times can I exchange my vehicle per month?

You can exchange vehicles for no charge up to twice per month. Additional exchanges are $75 per exchange.

What vehicles are available to choose from?

We offer a wide variety of SUVs, trucks and sedans within each tier.

Tier 1 vehicles include small SUVs, small trucks and full-size sedans (Volkswagen Tiguan, Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu & more).

Tier 2 vehicles include regular SUVs, large trucks, luxury sedans (Infiniti QX60, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford F-150, Dodge Ram 1500, Cadillac CTS, Chrysler 300 & more).

The availability of specific makes or models cannot be guaranteed.

What happens if the vehicle is damaged, breaks down or needs maintenance?

Roadside Assistance is included with your subscription and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Simply call 1-800-654-5060, and a representative will make arrangements for you to be on your way as quickly as possible.

Fuel policy
What is the fuel policy?

There are 2 options for refueling your vehicle:

Option 1: Refuel yourself and return the car with the same amount of fuel as when you picked-up
Option 2: Let us refuel for you and only pay for the fuel you used at $5/gallon

Coverage
Is coverage included with my subscription?

Coverage is included for the following:

  • Bodily injury or death up to a limit of $100,000 for each person
  • Up to a limit of $300,000 for each accident
  • Up to a limit of $50,000 for property damage

Can I return my vehicle if the location is closed?

We ask that you return the vehicle during the location's business hours.

Where is Hertz My Car available?

Hertz My Car is offered at select locations in Atlanta and Austin, with plans to expand to additional cities in the near future.

Billing and payment
How are charges billed?

Your one-time enrollment fee of $250 will be charged at the time of scheduling your first pick-up.

Your first month's payment will be charged thirty days from your first pick-up date. Subsequent payments will be charged monthly.

What are the accepted forms of payment?

Credit cards are the only accepted form of payment.

Restrictions
Can I use Hertz My Car vehicles for ride-sharing services?

Hertz My Car vehicles cannot be used for ride-sharing services.
