Just as Infiniti was launched as the luxury division of Nissan, the Lexus brand fulfils the same purpose for Toyota. Since its inception in 1989, it has gone on to become Japan’s most successful producer of luxury cars with representation in over 70 countries and territories all round the world.
The name is intended to reflect a feeling of both luxury and excellence and, over the last few decades, the brand has grown to become a serious challenger to European brands like BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi. The L-shaped logo is also a reflection of the T-shaped version made famous by Toyota.
Lexus produces a wide range of models today including sedan, coupe, convertible and SUV versions, all of which are strong competitors in their particular category.
Of the two models available in The Dream Collection, the GS is a luxury saloon to compete with cars like the BMW 5 series and offers high levels of comfort and technological sophistication, while the RX450 is a large 4x4 SUV hybrid that is exceptionally easy and quiet to drive, as well as being more environmentally friendly than many cars of its type.
