It’s a classic mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive supercar, with a sophisticated two-part retracting hard-top. This folds away electronically on top of the engine at the press of a button in just 14 seconds. The rear glass window can be adjusted into three different positions depending on the amount of sound and wind you want to enjoy.

The sculpted bodywork looks superb – and the 488 goes rather rapidly too. The two-seater covers the 0-62 mph sprint in just three seconds and continues to accelerate to a lofty 201mph top speed.
The engine is the same superb race-derived powerplant as the coupe version: that means a 3.9-liter V8 with twin turbochargers. In terms of power-per-liter, it’s the most powerful Ferrari has ever made.
Other state-of-the-art features include a semi-automatic seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes.
