If you are lucky enough to hire a Bentley Continental GTC you’ll be taking the wheel of one of the 21st century’s greatest fast, luxury touring cars. This British classic is a majestic two-door, four-seater grand tourer. The finish is impeccable, with a sumptuous leather and wood interior and a sturdy powered four-layer fabric roof that disappears at the press of a button into a slot between the trunk and back seats.

Under the long purposeful hood you’ll find a 6.0-litre W12 engine, which means this is also a very swift vehicle. The 0-60mph benchmark sprint is capable of being dispatched in around five seconds and the top speed (with the roof up) is around 195mph. The engine also sounds rather wonderful too – especially with the roof down.

Expect a cabin that reeks of British motoring heritage, with swathes of leather and wood. It’s luxurious and sporty in equal measure. Every surface has a feel of high quality workmanship and materials. There’s plenty of room for the four occupants and a long list of standard features and equipment. Look out for the heated seats and neck warming system to encourage driving with the roof down, whatever the temperature.
