Things to do in Hawaii
Diamond Head viewing point
Once a vantage point for the island’s coastal defense, Diamond Head is one of Hawaii’s most recognizable and iconic sites. Perched at the end of Waikiki Beach, the hike to the top is steep, but the panoramic views of Honolulu make it more than worth the effort.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Breathtaking and educational, the Devastation Trail at the National Park is a must. There are two main driving routes – Crater Rim Drive and Chain of Craters Road – allowing you to see more of the park in less time. Home to active volcanoes, including Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes on earth, the views are like nothing else.

The best beaches in Hawaii
Ko Olina Beach
This beach is unmissable, especially if you’re travelling with children. Not only is it beautiful, it’s sheltered from the bigger swells elsewhere, making the waters calmer and easier for younger children to explore. Splash around in the shallow clear waters, discover the nearby lagoons and coves, or watch out for the colorful fish and crabs hanging out in the rock pools.
Punaluu Beach
These black sands make a striking change to the sandy shores elsewhere on the island and they’re a hive of activity. Created by volcanic activity, the jet black sands are a truly unforgettable sight. Though the sands are dark, the waters are crystal clear and it’s one of the best places to snorkel in Hawaii. Spot endangered Hawksbill turtles laying on the sands and have a picnic in the shades of the coconut palms.
Waikiki Beach
By far the most famous of all Hawaii’s beaches, Honolulu’s southern shores are perfect for sunbathing, celeb spotting and surfing. Don’t worry if you’re a novice; lessons are available and there’s nowhere better to learn than here. Beachside you’ll find tons of vibrant bars and bustling cafes in this iconic area of Oahu.
