The Grand Junction Regional Airport, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, is very small indeed. It offers nonstop flights to five cities and connecting flights to hundreds more, but there are no international flights available. If you're flying into western Colorado, though, you'll probably find yourself here. Grand Junction itself is a major population center in western Colorado, and is the center of Mesa County. Whether you're here for business, the beauty of nature or even to sample Colorado's wine country, here's what you can expect at the airport itself.
The Grand Junction Regional Airport offers two retail establishments to meet your needs. One is a Subway Express for a quick sandwich while you wait for your rental car. The other is the Open Range Gift Shop. That's it for the airport, and if you have a specific food craving or need to buy something unusual, you'll probably need to hop into your Grand Junction rental car and head into town to get it.
If you're at the Grand Junction Regional Airport on a Saturday, you'll have the chance to peek in at the Commemorative Air Force, Rocky Mountain Wing. The unit maintains a small World War II museum that is free and open to the public on Saturdays. Its TBM Avenger, a large and historic plane, is currently under repair, but air shows and events will continue for the CAF as scheduled, according to its website.
