The Elisenhof district of Munich is the heart of many of the commercial activities of the city. The Elisenhof building itself is a vast modern complex housing shops, local authorities, doctors, law firms, notaries, business consultancies and commercial brands. The shops and restaurants are on the basement and ground floors, the offices on the floors above. If you pick up a hire car here you’ll probably note that the Elisenhof has its own enormous 24-hour car park, Munich’s largest. It is also very convenient for Munich’s Central Rail Station and the city’s subway system.
The Elisenhof building stands right next to the Old Botanical Garden, a popular city landmark with around 14,000 species of plants and extensive period greenhouses. If you pick up a hire car at Elisenhof you’ll find it stands close to the centre of the Bavarian capital, well within the city ring road. It is located between the useful north-south routes, Sonnestrasse and Seidlstrasse. Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz and Konigsplatz town squares are a very short drive away. The museum district, including the Pinakothek Art Gallery, is also close by. Look out too for the Deutsches science museum on an island in the Isar River.
