If you pick up a hire car at Camberger Strasse in Frankfurt’s Gallus district you’ll be able to join straight into the city’s road network. This stretch joins right onto Mainzer Landstrasse, the K803; one of Frankfurt’s main arterial roads full of offices and businesses, particularly car dealerships and garages. Gallus is mostly an industrial and commercial area with large areas of railway sidings. It stands just to the west of the main downtown area of the city and the five mile-long Mainzer Landstrasse leads west from the city centre, parallel with the River Main.
Hiring a car in the Gallus area of Frankfurt means you are well placed for the businesses based in that district, and able to head to western suburbs easily on the K803. It’s also handy for heading into the heart of Germany’s fifth largest city, which is one of the world’s leading financial centres and the headquarters of many international banks. The visitor attractions to look out for include the medieval Romer city hall and the restored 18th-century family home of German writer Goethe. The best views of the city, however, are from the observation deck at the top of the 56-storey Main Tower, which houses, of course, several major financial institutions.
