Berlin’s Main Railway Station is a modern transport hub in the heart of the German capital. It opened in 2006 at the Europaplatz Square in the district of Moabit. If hiring a car from Berlin’s Main Railway Station, you’ll discover the road connections are good. The main north-south B96 highway from the Czech border to the Baltic coast runs right past Europaplatz and allows you to drive south under the Spree waterway through a tunnel. You’ll find that Europaplatz forms part of the modern development of this district known as Europacity, which includes new hotels and office blocks between the railway lines and waterways.
Rent a car from Berlin’s Main Railway Station – which is often also called ‘Central Station’ – and you’ll be able to explore the Moabit district easily. This is a largely commercial area with green parks and waterways between modern and historic office blocks. A short distance further, however, you’ll start finding many of Berlin’s major attractions, including the historic glass-domed Reichstag parliament building and the classic landmark archway, the Brandenburg Gate. Nearby, there’s a chance to explore the large Tiergarten park, which houses Berlin Zoo and the monumental 19th-century Victory Column offering city-wide views from the top.
