The Hertz Green Collection offers a range of environmentally friendly, fuel efficient cars.

In Australia, the Green Collection features the innovative Toyota Hybrid Camry. The Hybrid Camry is equipped with a 2.4 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, a powerful electric motor, and a substantial hybrid battery which stores electrical energy. When accelerating, the vehicle uses its petrol engine. When decelerating or while stationary, it reverts to electric power, minimising fuel burn and exhaust emissions.

The new Camry also delivers substantially more power than a standard four cylinder vehicle, generating a combined petrol/electric output of approximately 140 kilowatts whilst consuming at least 20% less fuel.

Based on test driving in city and highway conditions, Toyota is confident that the Hybrid Camry will achieve fuel consumption in the low 6.0 litre range for every 100 kilometres driven - approximately 30% less than the conventional petrol-driven Camry. Toyota expects the combined use of the Hybrid Camry’s petrol engine and electric motor will generate an average of less than 150 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre driven.
