The fast, easy and convenient method for toll road payments

Hertz Australia has introduced a toll payment option, enabling customers renting in the States of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to conveniently arrange payment of tolls via Hertz at the time of rental.

The new system has been launched by Hertz in partnership with toll road operator Transurban/Roam Express.

The new Roam Express Rental e-Pass enables you to pre-register your details for automatic payment of tolls, in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Once you travel on a toll road, a Rental e-Pass will be activated with a one-off start up fee of $4.95 per rental agreement will be applied, after which the applicable Toll Road fee will be charged at each toll gate or tolling point. In addition a $0.75 video matching fee will be applied per trip. The video matching fee on Queensland Motorways will be $0.42 per toll point. If there is no travel on a toll road, you will not be charged a fee. Once accepted, this rental e-Pass is valid for the term of your rental agreement.

Credit Card Customers

Hertz customers who pay for their vehicle hire with a credit card, will be asked at the rental counter to sign a Roam Express toll authority along with the Hertz rental agreement. This will allow Hertz to provide the customer's credit card details to Transurban/Roam Express, who will manage the toll road billing. At this time, the customer is able to advise the Hertz representative if they prefer to arrange their own payment of tolls via eTag or other means.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Members

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members who pay for their vehicle hire with a credit card will be automatically opted in for a rental E-Pass which will cover toll usage during the course of each rental with Hertz. Customers can opt-out at any time by emailing ausgold@hertz.com

Companies with Hertz Charge Accounts

Companies can elect to add Toll Product to all rentals allocated to a Hertz Charge Card account. Your Account Manager can provide you with the required documents that allow you to establish a parallel account with Transurban/Roam Express. This account will be set up to accept Toll Road charges incurred during a rental with Hertz. This account must be settled via a single nominated corporate credit card.

Should a customer fail to make appropriate arrangements for Toll Road charges, they will be liable for fines issued by the Toll Road operator. In addition, an Infringement Administration Fee of $36.30 per toll violation will be applied by Hertz.
